LISA'S RESUME (PDF)

Lisa is a British-born trained actress (AEA) and teacher who offers courses and individual coaching sessions to actors of all experience levels. She specializes in Shakespeare.

She holds a BA in english and drama from Exeter University,  an MA in performance from East Anglia University (specializing in Shakespeare), and received her conservatory training from Mountview  Academy of Theatre Arts in London.

As a teacher and coach, Lisa founded an acting school in Spain that taught English through drama. She has also taught acting in both the U.K. and U.S. school systems for many years. An experienced British dialect coach, Lisa has worked for Zeitgeist Stage Company in Boston. She also served as assistant director of education at Wheelock Family Theatre in Boston for several years, and has taught improvisation, character development, and scene study to actors throughout Massachusetts. Inspired over twenty years ago by classes she took at The Globe Theatre in London with Shakespearean scholar Peter Dawkins, actor Mark Rylance, and director Richard Olivier, Lisa see Shakespeare's plays as initiatory journeys that have the ability to transform character and actor alike. Since then she has shared her love of Shakespeare to actors of all ages either side of the Atlantic, and has developed a continually evolving teaching method that is inspired by various eminent European practitioners, her own unique approach and the individual creativity of her students.

As an actress, Lisa co-founded and managed Robideez, a theatre company that toured original works throughout London, Southern England, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the 1980s. She has also acted extensively for BBC Radio Drama and Zen Biscuit Factory Theatre Co. Since she arrived in the U.S., Lisa has earned many regional acting, directing, and stage managing credits and has been in countless industrials.  She is a voice-over artist and currently lives in Rhode Island.
